Coronation Street‘s Alan Halsall has teased what the future holds for Tyrone and Fiz
Dobbs after Alina Pop’s dramatic return.
Tonight’s episode (August 7) marked Ruxandra Porojnicu’s first appearance in
the show since 2021, when Fiz bumped into Alina outside the supermarket.
Alina told Fiz that she wasn’t back in Weatherfield permanently and had been called as a witness in the trial against the human trafficking gang.

But Fiz spotted a photo of Alina and a toddler on her phone and while she quickly claimed it was her nephew, Fiz’s suspicions were piqued.
Tyrone was otherwise occupied, as he confronted Jack after discovering condoms in Hope’s bag, while Fiz told Maria her fears that Alina’s child could be Tyrone’s.
Fiz eventually told Tyrone the truth and he was in denial about the situation, while she urged her husband to speak to Alina – but when he arrived at the hotel she had already checked out.

Speaking to Digital Spy and other media, actor Alan Halsall explained Tyrone’s panicked reaction to this baby bombshell news.
“I think first and foremost he’s just settling into married life with Fiz now,” he said. “It’s only a couple of years, after a 20-year romance, that they finally got married. He’s living this domestic bliss so the last thing he wants is anything interrupting that.”
While for now it seems like Tyrone has missed his chance to see Alina, in upcoming episodes she will return to the Street and it will be confirmed that her son Dorin is Tyrone’s.

Halsall said: “I can only imagine for Tyrone that’s a whole whirlwind of emotions there – not knowing about it, why has he missed that time? It’ll bring up a lot of emotions for him because his own childhood was so poor and now we’ve seen Cassie and that’s all just come back to light.
“Obviously knowing there’s nothing he can do [about the past], he wants to make a point from now to be the best person he can be in that child’s life.”
But even though this new drama will make things difficult for Fiz and Tyrone, Halsall is confident that the iconic couple will survive this latest test.

“[Fiz has] nothing to worry about!” he said. “I think Tyrone did learn his lessons and we saw that clearly when they got back together and they finally got married after breaking up so many times.
“There’s been plenty of occasions where Ty and Fiz have not been together but that’s bubbled on for 20 years. He thinks Fiz shouldn’t be worrying at all but, of course, she’s bound to.”
