Corrie enthusiasts reckon they have rumbled Kit Green’s true identity – and he’s not Bernie Winters offspring.
The dodgy copper, portrayed by Jacob Roberts, swooped into Weatherfield this year
masquerading as Bernie’s (Jane Hazlegrove) long-lost lad. Corrie stalwart Bernie parted
ways with Christopher ‘Kit’ Green for adoption nearly three decades back.
Only a short while ago, Bernie finally located him but the chap blanked her. Meanwhile, Bernie’s other kiddos, Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) and Paul (Peter Ash), were gobsmacked to discover another sibling in the mix.
Moreover, Kit had a hand in the grim demise of evil Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper), who copped it for knocking off Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton). Kit sneakily tucked Lauren’s genetic markers into nonce Nathan’s motor, stitching him up good and proper.
Since then, Kit’s been a fixture on the street but he let his nasty streak show when he chirped about snapping up Gemma and Chesney’s gaff to rent it back to them, reports the Express.
However, it wasn’t long before he revealed a nastier side, taking a moment to express his contempt for Bernie out of everyone’s earshot.
But now, the audience is questioning whether the Kit Green we’re watching is the genuine article. A sleuthing fan suggested on a Coronation Street Facebook group: “I don’t think Kit is Bernie’s son I think he has stolen the identity of his housemate.”
Corrie enthusiasts are piecing together the puzzle and dropping some juicy speculation – with a solid bunch convinced that the character in question might actually be the true Kit Green’s adoptive brother, out for payback.
One sleuth hypothesised: “Maybe her [Bernie] son was adopted by Kit’s mother, and got treated better than Kit,” while another mused, “I agree but he is not housemate he is the adoptive brother.”
Diving deeper into the mystery, a third suggested: “So Kit’s biological parents adopted Bernie’s real son. That’s why he was at the house and knows all the history and has the surname green. Kit wants revenge for his brother and possibly the turmoil she caused his family whilst he grew up.”
Aligning with this twisty thinking, somebody else postulated: “Me too thought that something not right bout him defo twist to it.”
And a fifth theoriser contributed: “Maybe had another brother who was adopted by Kit’s adoptive parents and is seeking vengeance for him?”
