Coronation Street’s Katie McGlynn has opened up about tying the knot with her TOWIE star boyfriend, Ricky Rayment.
The actress, 30, who played Sinead Tinker in Corrie, confirmed her romance with the reality star, 33, on Valentine’s Day after Katie shared a series of photos of the pair on Instagram.
After meeting unexpectedly on a cruise ship, the pair have been inseparable and now Katie has revealed whether the couple will be walking down the aisle. Discussing their plans for the future, she admitted that while Ricky is the “loveliest human being”, she won’t be saying “I do” just yet.
Sharing her thoughts on getting married, she said: “I’ve never thought about a proposal before; it’s not something I’ve dreamed about like other girls. But we are very happy – the happiest – and Ricky is very romantic. I know that he would pull out all the stops,” reports OK! magazine.
Ricky, who starred in TOWIE between 2012 and 2015 and has in the past dated co-star Jess Wright, also remained coy about his future wedding plans, teasing: “I’m afraid that’s for me to know and everyone else to find out…It’s only been six months as well, so we’ll see, but it’s looking positive.”
Katie, who appeared in the 2021 series of Strictly Come Dancing alongside Gorka Marquez, revealed that she and Ricky had spent “most of our adult lives being single”. “I think we preferred to be alone rather than with someone who wasn’t right – but it’s definitely been worth the wait! It sounds cringey, but when we chatted on that cruise, I felt like I was at home. It was so comfortable,” she gushed.
When the former Corrie star agreed to a job on a cruise ship she thought it would be a chance to travel and spend time with a friend. However, just minutes after arriving on the ship she saw Ricky and while it wasn’t exactly love at first sight, romance soon began to blossom.
