This comes as Emmerdale fans beg for less ‘misery’ in the soap’s storylines, with Tom’s abuse coming to a head not long after the sudden death of Ethan, the PTSD agony of Charity, the diagnosis of Dawn and Billy’s baby Evan with leukaemia and Bob’s grief at the loss of his teen son earlier this year.
Elsewhere in the village, Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) quizzes Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) about telling Suni (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana) the truth about Amit (Anil Goutam).
Jai, however, can’t face it and, as he lashes out, he insults Ashley’s memory and storms out. Laurel is devastated and soon afterwards she starts to feel horribly unwell as she collapses to the floor.
Frightened and alone, barely able to move, she’s unable to reach for her phone. Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham), however, comes to her rescue and calls for an ambulance.
And Caleb Miligan (William Ash) finds himself in danger as Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin) puts two and two together about Ethan’s (Emile John) hit and run, with a showdown ensuing between the two in the woods.
But just how will this all pan out?
