“They’re not things I’d show my mum. I get everything. Some of them are topless photos. I’ve even had people say, ‘Will you marry me?’. But I don’t think it’s a proper proposal.”

Lewis also recently spoke about his close off-screen relationship with co-star Rosie Bentham, who plays his on-screen ex-fiance Gabby Thomas. His character Nicky was initially brought into the village to trick Gabby into marrying him, but eventually confessed his scheme after getting cold feet, revealing he had a boyfriend all along.
In a previous interview with Digital Spy, Lewis revealed: “I’d probably say Rosie Bentham, because from the beginning and for my first six months we’ve basically been working together every day.”

Despite their past, Lewis is optimistic that Nicky and Gabby will eventually become friends, stating: “I think they do get on. The problem is, the circumstances and the manipulation.” Lewis also shared his close relationship with his on-screen father William Ash, who portrays Caleb Milligan, describing him as “super helpful and absolutely brilliant”. In more recent scenes, Nicky almost faced death when he was involved in a fatal car crash.
