Emmerdale fans are convinced it won’t be long before Kim Tate works out that Nicky and Caleb are trying to get their hands on her late husband Frank’s money.
On Friday’s episode, Kim (Claire King) discovered Frank (Norman Bowler) had an illegitimate son she never knew about and immediately feared he could come looking for money in the will.
Viewers recently learned that Nicky (Lewis Cope) is actually the son of Caleb (Will Ash) who in turn is the son of Frank Tate.
Caleb told Nicky he had a ‘little surprise’ in store for Kim, which turned out to be a legal letter informing her of Frank’s secret son.
Kim was forced to confide in Will (Dean Andrews) that she had stolen money from Frank’s estate and didn’t need someone trying to dig up the past.
Neither of them realised the baby monitor was still running, allowing Nicky to hear their entire conversation.
Nicky relayed what he heard to Caleb who told his son they would gain Kim’s trust and ‘abuse it’.
But it looks like Nicky and Caleb have their work cut out for them as Kim informed Will of her plans in the final scene.
She told him: ‘You realise there could be more? Illegitimate heirs? I’ve got a database of old employees from back in the day, anyone who might have found time to get pregnant.
‘You know he had the snip, then had it reversed, plenty of opportunities. The youngest he could be is 25 but it could have happened anytime, even before we were married so could be in the 30s, and the mother is likely to be around.
‘I’m worried if we let this person set a precedent, more will crawl out of the woodwork.
She added: ‘I’m going to hide so much money so quickly, but by the time it gets past that lawyer, there’ll be nothing left for him, nothing.’
Viewers took to Twitter during the show, with many speculating that it won’t be long before Kim works out exactly what Nicky and Caleb are up to.
