Emmerdale star seen pulling pints in local pub in side hustle to make more cash

An Emmerdale actor has been seen working behind the bar pulling pints for punters in a second job to make some extra cash.

Joe-Warren Plant, who currently plays Jacob Gallagher on the ITV soap, has been a part of the show since 2010. Aged just 22, he has only been able to be in the bar for a few years, but seems to have already mastered the art of pouring perfect pints.

According to The Sun, Joe-Warren is currently “relatively new” to his new second posting and is being “taught by other staff” to perfect his skills. He has been spotted several times in the bar, close to his hometown of Blackpool and already won the favour of the regulars pitched up at the pub.

This is the latest in a string of skills and achievements that Joe-Warren has shown off for the public. In 2021, he was forced to temporarily leave the Dales in order to compete on Dancing on Ice, eventually having to withdraw from the competition after he and professional partner Vanessa Bauer both caught Covid-19.

He made his way back to the village just six months after his stint on the ice. Now, he has been seen mixing his acting life with his new-fangled love of serving drinks to customers in Blackpool.

An insider close to the pub said: “He’s only just recently started working in the pub pulling pints for the last few weeks, he’s fairly new to it all and is being taught by other staff on what to do. He’s still on screen in Emmerdale, so this is a little side line job to earn him some extra cash on the side.”

Joe-Warren’s presence in the pub has left some soap fans gobsmacked, according to the source. “Shocked punters couldn’t believe their eyes when they walked in to find him behind the bar serving them, but Joe is an ordinary boy from Blackpool,” they explained.

Those who work close to Joe-Warren said that because he knows the owner, he wants to “help out a bit when he gets the chance”. However, it is a far cry from his other job, which he first took on when he was aged just eight years old.

During his 14-year stint on the show, Jacob has been the focal point of some of the soap’s most gripping storylines, including his illegal relationship with his teacher Maya. In 2020, to allow for him to go on Dancing on Ice, he was temporarily written out of the show, staying with his on-screen mum Alicia, played by Natalie Anderson.

However, his Dancing on Ice experience left him devastated in more ways than one. Aside from having to withdraw due to catching Covid, he eventually would split from his then-girlfriend Nicole Hadlow due to the stress of training for the show.
