Emmerdale viewers were left cursing the ITV show’s camera work on Tuesday (April 23) during an altercation between Victoria Sugden and Leyla Harding.
The Dales pair were at loggerheads in the street after Leyla overheard a drunken Victoria laughing. “What’s the joke?” asked Leyla. “I could do with a laugh. Is it to do with Jacob by any chance?” As the camera panned back to Victoria, however, the shot appeared unsteady, wobbling as she faced allegations from her fuming foe.
Back facing Leyla again, the camera continued to shake, which proved too much for some fans. “Why was the camera shaking throughout that entire scene?! #emmerdale,” asked one viewer on X (formerly Twitter).
Another penned: “Why is the camera so shaky?! It’s giving me a headache.” A third joked: Time to fire the camera man – the blokes drunker than Victoria with these shots #emmerdale.” And a fourth said: “What is it with the camera in this scene?”
Back on the show, Leyla’s barrage of criticism tipped Victoria over the edge, prompting her to give the drug-user an almighty slap around the face. It turned the mood on X, with viewers praising Victoria for giving Leyla “exactly what she deserved”.
“Seeing Leyla finallly getting the s*** slapped out of her was so satisfying!” one person penned. Another agreed: “Oh well done Victoria, think Leyla needed that smack.”
A third added: “Good on ya Victoria giving the b**** Leyla a well deserved slap waheyy!” And a fourth said: “Victoria has gone up in my estimation and will go up again if she gives that cow Leyla a second slap.”
The dramatic scene saw Leyla call the police, however, and soon PC Swirling was on hand to arrest Victoria over the assault.
