Emmerdale’s Chris Bisson speaks out on what’s next for his character Jai Sharma following dramatic scenes which saw Amit leave village for good following death of Rishi Sharma

Jai Sharma took his final revenge against his biological father Amit in dramatic scenes in Emmerdale on Friday.

This week, Jai (Chris Bisson) saw Amit (Anil Goutam) up to mischief as he handed over the HOP’s takings to a loanshark before pretending to have been mugged.

Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) and Jai then teamed up to prove that Amit must have been involved in the death of Rishi Sharma (Bhasker Patel) last year.

Following a heated conversation this week, Amit admitted he killed Jai’s brother, with Jai shoving him down the stairs and leaving him in a pool of blood.

Viewers were left wondering if Amit had been killed but on Friday he was seen bound and gagged.

Jai and Amit finally struck a deal and Amit left the village forever without saying goodbye to anyone.

Actor Chris has now spoken out on the dramatic scenes and what’s in store next for his character Jai.

Chris said: ‘Jai has finally discovered the truth about Amit and I think this has brought out the dark side in him.

‘He’s previously tried to suppress all his feelings and he listened to Laurel and Suni who said there was nothing to see hear. That Jai should move on and accept the death of his father and take Amit into his family.

‘Well that has proved to be untrue. Amit is the villain that we suspected or that Jai suspected he was.

‘Amit has been very devious and the pain that Jai suffered over the last eight months or so since Rishi’s death has now exploded.

‘It is like a big fireball inside him and it’s all coming out in one go.

‘And Amit is feeling the wrath of Jai’s pain. I think that for Jai it’s very simple now.
