Home and Away legend Ada Nicodemou has been left red-faced after watching her TV debut back, 30 years on.
Nicodemou, 46, is currently in the midst of a huge storyline as her character Leah Patterson, after tying the knot to Justin Morgan, played by James Stewart. A staple of the show, Leah has become one of the longest serving characters on the Aussie soap, which is broadcast in the UK on Channel 5.
Ada joined the crew at Summer Bay back in 2000, initially for just a six-month contract. However, what many may not know was that the actress already had quite the illustrious career before making it to the smash soap. Her first big break came in 1994, when she landed a part on the original series of Heartbreak High. Her character Katerina Ioannou was a huge fan favourite, but was known for stirring up trouble for the rest of the characters on the show.
Now, Ada has looked back at the first time she appeared on the show all the way back in 1994. In the clip that she posted to her TikTok account, she could be seen wincing and pulling herself away from the laptop as she cringed at her former self.
In the short clip from the show, Katerina could be seen dancing with Con, played by heartthrob Salvatore Coco. As the pair passionately dance with each other, Katerina tries to pull out all the stops by thrusting her hips in an attempt to twerk and win Con over, but to no avail.
Watching the clip back, Ada shouted as she winced: “Oh my God!” She added: “The director who filmed this has actually apologised for this opening shot.”
As she looked on at the embarrassing dance moves, she desperately exclaimed: “It’s so bad! What is with my dancing? This was Katerina’s introduction to the show, I’m hoping she got a bit better.”
Some of Ada’s multitude of fans raced into the comments section to comment on the hilariously ridiculous clip. Many also praised Ada for being able to look back at the video, as well as giving their own reactions to the odd scene.
One fan in particular penned in response to the clip: “Haha, look at Coco’s face! That’s the Heartbreak High I remember.”
