Eden feels deeply conflicted about the victim impact statements. She opens up to Remi, Cash and Felicity, worried that the two brothers responsible for the kidnapping will end up with equal punishment. Because of this, Eden wants to help Mickey get a lighter sentence.
Remi is enraged by this – to him, there’s no excuses for what either of them did, and they deserve to pay for putting him and Eden through hell. Frustrated that none of them understand her, Eden storms off.
Eden visits Levi at the hotel room, seeking reassurance from her brother that she’s doing the right thing about the victim impact statements. Levi bolsters Eden, telling her that she knows the right thing to do. Eden is relieved and tells him she’s grateful to have her big brother around again.
Newly empowered, Eden returns to Remi and tells him she’s doubling down. Remi fights back: it looks like he’s going to have to make a statement after all – directly contradicting hers. Eden is speechless.
Meanwhile, Mackenzie and Levi get to know each other a little better in the hotel room. However, they’re interrupted by the sudden arrival of Eden. Panicking, Mackenzie quickly hides in the bathroom, inadvertently eavesdropping on the siblings’ conversation.
Mackenzie emerges from the bathroom as soon as Eden leaves, and Levi is surprisingly worked up. He tells her firmly that Eden can never find out about them, because he can’t afford to lose her. Levi confesses that the reason why he was estranged from his sister is because he sided with their father when he cheated on their mother. What does this mean for Mac and Levi going forward?
Elsewhere, Roo tells John that she’s using Surf Club money to pay Cash for the investigation into the anonymous donor. John is not happy about this, huffing that she’s “using money to find out where free money is coming from”. He demands that Roo calls off the investigation, but she adamantly refuses.
John angrily accuses Roo of overspending. She immediately deflects, telling him to go and look in the mirror, and storms off. However, after calming down, Roo tells John that she will compromise: moving forward, she’ll stop using Surf Club money and pay Cash out of her own pocket. John, in turn, agrees to tone down his spending with the budget.
Later, Cash receives a mysterious tip about the source of the donation – he seems relieved by the news. Who was the caller?
