Levi is in hot pursuit of Eden, who is angry and can’t believe what she has just seen. Levi protests that his feelings for Mackenzie are real, but even as he declares his love for her, Eden can only see their dad – in her eyes, Levi’s exactly like him.
Levi goes to Mackenzie, but she wakes in the night to an empty bed. When she does find him, he’s despondent as he scrolls through his message history with Imogen, which he describes as a “wall of lies”. Eden vents to Felicity and tells her that she can’t bring herself to break Imogen’s heart, while Mackenzie stresses to Levi that they need to find a way to contain this. After Felicity kicks Levi out of Salt, he tries again with Eden, apologising profusely. He admits that reconnecting has meant a lot to him and he’d like to find a way forward.
Meanwhile, Tane is still being held at the police station and Harper is standing by him. She pleads his case to a fed-up Rose, who points out that because of Tane, Harper and Mali could be facing charges too. Harper is shocked as she hadn’t realised that.
Next, Rose fronts up at Mali’s with an axe to grind with her boyfriend, telling him that what he did was wrong and he should have told her the minute he found out where Tane was hiding with the baby. Mali disagrees and takes offence that she’s here to lecture him while their friend sits alone in a cell. She’s incredulous and makes it clear that she’ll be powerless if Sarge decides to press charges. As Tane, Mali and Harper return from court, Tane seems set in denial. They all remind him that he’s lucky to have been granted bail. As far as he sees it, though, it’s all pointless. When Harper tells Tane they’re not giving up on him, he’s bleak and insists that he might as well just accept it.
