It’s all kicking off in Home and Away next week.
It’s the morning after the night before for Xander and Dana. Mortified, she gathers her clothes in haste and sneaks out. She powers home but is spotted by Irene and Harper, cluing onto this being the aftermath of a hot date. Dana later attempts to recover her phone from Xander’s room only to be caught him. He tries to reassure he wanted her to stay – he was going to make her breakfast and everything.
They both clumsily try to ascertain if the other thinks it was a mistake, before Rose arrives and Dana makes an awkward exit. Xander admits to Rose that he might actually like Dana, but questions if she feels the same?
When he does try to talk to her, he’s up front – he was disappointed to wake up and find her gone, because he likes her. And he thinks they should be more than friends. It’s exactly what Dana had been hoping for, and they seal the deal with a kiss.
Meanwhile Mackenzie admits to Mali that she’s on tenterhooks waiting to hear from Levi, but she dares not call him in case he hasn’t told his wife the truth yet. Mali convinces her otherwise, and when they do speak, Levi promises he’s ending things with Imogen tomorrow, but is at odds with what approach to take.
Imogen returns from a conference, sensing her marriage is about to take a turn and tries to distract them both with breakfast, then delays with a shower. Eventually, Levi cutsthrough though – they need to talk.
Tragically, Imogen thinks Levi’s problems lie on the subject of having kids, making the truth even more crushing – I’m having an affair, he tells her. And I’m leaving you.
Imogen’s questions are overwhelming to them both – how long? Who is she? Pack your bags and get out. He’s hesitant to leave her upset, cursed with still caring for her, but she’s firm – this isn’t your home anymore. Finally, Levi comes home to Mac and the lovers embrace. It’s sad, but they’re together now. At last
Eden answers the phone to a distressed and angry Imogen in the wake of Levi’s affair bombshell. She confronts Eden about being his cover story, and Eden admits that’s true. But when she protests that she didn’t know all along, it falls on deaf ears.
It’s only when she fronts up in person to declare that she’d also be happy to never see her brother again, Imogen crumbles. Talking through the affair, Eden reveals the other woman to have been Mackenzie, and declares they’re no longer friends as a result.
Meanwhile Mackenzie comforts Levi – sorry for everything he’s been through, but glad they’re together. For his part, he’s worried about Imogen, and ignores Mac’s advice to leave her be.
When she presses, he snaps at her – don’t tell him how to handle his marriage. Once he has calmed, he apologises to an understanding Mackenzie. It won’t always be this way, she tells him. They settle inn for dinner when Eden lets herself in with a fierce warning – leave Imogen alone and stop pretending you care. Levi is left feeling even worse.
Elsewhere on Home and Away, Stevie explains she wants Cash to stay on as her personal security. He thinks on it, and he admits to Eden that he’s tempted, but ultimately, he turns down Stevie’s offer.
Bree catches up with Remi to make it clear that she has no problem with him seeing Stevie. Remi, realising she saw Stevie’s post, feels badly, but is glad she’s okay with it, cutting their catch-up short when he’s summoned by Justin.
Bree realises she needs to get back out there and try new experiences. It’s time to get over Remi but she struggles to leave him in the past, despite Kirby’s attempts to focus on her romantic future.
But Bree and Kirby turn the other way when Stevie Marlow and her entourage arrive back in the Bay, and she is very much in Remi’s arms. Bree then finds a welcome distraction in a romantic stroll along the beach with the handsome film director, Nelson.
Stevie later surprisingly shows up on Cash’s doorstep, charming him into letting her take him for a drink. Her true intentions are revealed to Cash: If he won’t come to work with her as her security guard elsewhere, she’ll bring the film to Summer Bay. Cash explains she’s safe now and she doesn’t need him, but she won’t let it go.
She returns to him later, explaining she only feels safe when Cash is around. Sure enough, Cash is shaking hands with the crew – more proof that Stevie Marlow always gets what she wants.
Also happening on Home and Away, Roo later shares exciting news – she’s decided to press ahead with becoming an emergency foster carer, inspired by baby Poppy and her mum, Sonia. She just wants Alf’s blessing to open their home to children in need.
However, Alf is evasive, first using Marilyn as an excuse but is eventually caught out, revealing his true feelings. Roo is devastated when she overhears Alf expressing his concerns during a private phone call, referring to the whole enterprise as one of Roo’s “little projects”.
Roo confronts Alf, concerned that his opinion about her foster caring is something he should have spoken to her directly about. They unpack his concerns for Roo taking on such a big responsibility given her history, but she takes it as a lack of faith in her.
It’s later in the night when Roo makes her position on fostering clear. This is not a decision based on a whim, and she won’t be changing her mind on it. Over a cup of tea, Alf is reassuring – of course he’s going to help her make this a reality.
