Home and Away star Ada Nicodemou has revealed her go-to kitchen hack for spotless cutlery – and all you need is an unlikely household essential.
Ada is also irked by her stainless steel cutlery turning brown in the dishwasher like many Aussies.
‘You know when you get stuff out of the dishwasher and it’s rusty and you can’t get it off?’ she asked in a video before pointing at one of her knives with brown stains on it.
She recently discovered a new hack using aluminium foil.
‘You get some alfoil, you scrunch it up, and rub the ball onto the stain,’ she advised, doing the same with her knife.
Ada was shocked when the mark effortlessly rubbed off and she was left with a sparkling piece of cutlery
‘This is amazing, I’m doing the whole kitchen!’ Ada raved.
According to Australia’s property maintenance company Fantastic Services, foil doesn’t have any cleaning properties but the aluminium works well on shining utensils and even oven racks.
A few others revealed other surprising uses for the kitchen essential.
‘I use alfoil to sharpen my scissors and the garden secateurs!’ one shared.
‘That’s also how I clean the rims on my car before I polish them,’ another said.
‘Also great for cleaning the bottom of your saucepans,’ a woman added.
‘Steel wool does the same thing,’ another wrote.
