Tammin Sursok has shocked her fans by revealing she was recently hospitalised after suffering a concussion – and shared the surprising reason it happened.
The former Home and Away star, 40, posted a photo to Instagram on Thursday capturing her lying in a hospital bed in a neck brace and captioned it with some surprising words.
‘Concussions can happen doing the stupidest things. And when it happens you might have to show or tell the doctor what you were doing,’ she began.
The South African-born star also posted a hilarious video revealing the mishap occurred when she accidentally fell out of bed while filming a cheeky clip.
Tammin was making a hilarious video in which she lied on a bed in an oversized onesie pretending to be a baby, as a tongue-in-cheek tribute to the many newborn photoshoots arranged the same way.
‘I almost went to urgent care because I landed on my head falling off the bed,’ she wrote next to the clip.
Fortunately, after a brief trip to the emergency room she was given a clean bill of health and allowed to return home.
Sursok turned 40 in August, and prior to the occasion she shared some trepidations about the milestone birthday.
The stunner told Stellar Magazine that she was worried about how ageing will affect her career.
‘I’m not nervous about turning 40, I’m nervous of what that represents’ she told the publication.
‘I think the fear of turning 40 is just I don’t want to work less. I remember having my first kid and they said I was no longer an ingenue – I was 29 years old’.
Tammin has been candid about her body image struggles in the past, admitting that she ‘desired to be wanted, to be lusted over’ as a young girl and struggled with an eating disorder.
The Pretty Little Liars actress lives in Nashville with husband Sean McEwen and their two daughters, ten-year-old Phoenix and five-year-old Lennon.
