Coronation Street fans have spotted a puzzling detail at Eileen Grimshaw’s house on the cobbles.
Soap fans will recall that Eileen’s home houses many of Weatherfield’s residents, including Eileen, her son Todd, lodger Mary Taylor, partner George Shuttleworth and until recently Sean Tully, as well as his son Dylan.
However, a scene on Monday night left soap watchers absolutely puzzled as they claimed “absolutely not”. During the episode, Eileen was in the kitchen talking to Glenda Shuttleworth when George entered the room and made himself a packed lunch.
The undertaker used the fridge in the kitchen to grab his bits for lunch to which fans were left puzzled over a detail… the size of Eileen’s fridge. It appeared that the house only has a small mini fridge for the occupants as viewers took to Twitter, now X, to share their thoughts.
One person said: “No. Absolutely not, @itvcorrie … no way, NO way do the 4098 people who live at Eileen’s house live with that tiny fridge alone! #Corrie”, a different account put: “That’s a small fridge . #corrie”, another wrote: “That fridge at Eileen’s seems small for 4-7 people or whatever number lives there #Corrie” while a different account joked: “Why is Eileen’s fridge getting a starring role today? #Corrie.”
It comes as Eileen will be taking some time away from the show soon with an exit revealed. But after 24 years of playing the role, is actress Sue Cleaver leaving the ITV soap for good? Viewers will no doubt be questioning why she isn’t filming, with Eileen making an exit in upcoming scenes – and now we know more about Eileen’s exit.
Scenes confirmed the character would make an exit soon, as she packs up her things and leaves Weatherfield. She heads to Thailand, following her son Jason Grimshaw breaking his back in a moped accident.
