Lisa George is renowned for her role as a member of the Coronation Street cast.
The soap star arrived on the Cobbles as Beth Tinker in 2011 and continues to be one of the show’s most important characters. Beth’s storylines have largely centred around her romance with Kirk Sutherland, who she married in 2015.
The 51-year-old is active on social media and thrilled fans with a number of exciting updates from her life away from the screen this week. Lisa thrilled fans as she revealed she has taken a well earned break from filming the long-running soap.
She took to the social media platform to share she had jetted off to Venice. However, fans were thrilled when Lisa revealed she was joined by a familiar face in the popular tourist destination.
She shared a snap alongside her former Coronation Street co-star, Katie McGlynn, who played Sinead Tinker from 2013 – 2020. Lisa was delighted to be reunited with her onscreen niece as Katie said in a joint announcement: “Our Sinead and Auntie Beth… it’s like we’ve never been apart ”
Followers took to the comments in excitement at the reunion as co-star Julia Goulding said: “Gorgeous women.” Lisa’s trip to Venice wasn’t the only exciting news she shared this week as she also revealed she is set for a new job away from the Cobbles later this year.
Lisa told her Instagram followers she is set to to perform in a Cinderalla pantomime in Swindon this Christmas season. She said: “You SHALL go to the ball. I am thrilled to be starring in @wyverntheatre’s magical family pantomime **Cinderella** this festive season.”
Although she may be heading for a temporary break from the Cobbles while she performs in the pantomime, the actor has previously spoken about how she is still thrilled to be a part of the Coronation Street cast.
Last year, Beth was was absent from the Super Soap Week episodes earlier this year, which fuelled speculation her time on the show could soon come to an end. However, the star told our sister site, Mirror Online, she has recently signed a new contract as she addressed the rumours about her show exit.
Speaking at the Pride of Britain Awards, she said: “I’ve got a new contract. It’s really weird, everyone was saying you’re leaving, you’re leaving. I was asked about my contract and I said I was waiting, and so they asked what I’d like to do if I didn’t get one and I said Call The Midwife. That’s all I said it was a passing comment then the next thing, everyone is ringing me like, ‘you’re leaving, you’re leaving’.
“I was like no, what’s all this, no, I don’t know anything about it. It’s just weird I don’t even know how it happened from the passing comment.” Lisa confirmed she was forced to miss the Super Soap Week episodes after she contracted coronavirus.
