Former Coronation Street cast member Lucy-Jo Hudson has shared a glimpse at one of her “side” projects and told fans that she feels “blessed” to do what she loves.
The actor, 40, is best known for having played Katy Harris on the ITV soap opera from 2002 to 2005. She’s continued to act in the years since then and Lucy-Jo has pursued other opportunities too, including having become a presenter.
She recently hosted the annual Marketing Cheshire Tourism Awards in Chester, for example. It recognises “excellence and outstanding achievement” in Cheshire’s visitor economy and was held this year at Chester Cathedral on March 21.
Lucy-Jo, who had announced her involvement on social media, has since given fans “a little look into” the awards ceremony. She shared footage from the event on Instagram last week, which showed her presenting whilst on stage.
Alongside the video, Lucy-Jo wrote in the accompanying caption about presenting being just one aspect of her career at the moment. She told her followers in the post on the platform recently: “I’m blessed to do what I love.”
Giving an insight into her life, she continued: “A little look into the tourism awards I had the absolute pleasure of hosting just over a week ago … I don’t think it’s something I’ve ever shared with you, that I do this on the side along with spinning my many other plates but I genuinely love it.”
Lucy-Jo teased that it’s “a bit different” from acting but shared a similarity. She said: “It’s a bit different glamming up and being yourself, rather than playing a character, but both jobs provide me with a script so I’m safe and happy.”
Teasing about hosting again, she concluded the post by writing: “There was so much love and support in the room at the stunning Chester cathedral, the food was amazing, and the night just went swimmingly. Roll on the next one.”
