ITV Coronation Street viewers ‘rumble’ Demi’s true identity – and it’s bad news for Steve

Coronation Street viewers think they have worked out Demi’s real identity, and why she’s after Steve McDonald.

The newcomer struck up a romance with the character in recent weeks, amid his heartbreak over his split with wife Tracy McDonald. Tracy had cheated on Steve with his football idol Tommy Orpington, and she left the street to live with him abroad

Steve has been in the dating game and has since decided to give things a go with Demi, but fans are convinced there is more to the character. Some viewers believe Demi is targeting Steve, amid others wondering whether she could be a reporter or linked to Tommy.

Now the new theory is that Demi could be linked to new villain Rowan Cunliffe and his cult, amid Leanne Battersby being reeled in by him and his ‘wellbeing institute’. Taking to X, viewers shared their theory over the identity of Demi and what her plan might be.One viewer said: “Shock twist – I think Demi could be Rowan’s ex? She couldn’t get away quick enough when Toyah approached her,” adding: “Demi is definitely using Steve.” Another fan said: “Rowan’s ex could be Demi, connecting Steve and Leanne.”

Coronation Street viewers think they have worked out Demi's real identity

So might Demi be targeting Steve for the institute, and could she be working for Rowan? It follows the theory that instead, she is the ex-wife of Tommy who is now with Tracy.

One viewer said: “Just waiting for her to announce that she was Tommy O’s ex or something,” as another wrote: “Steve’s new date, Demi, is going to end up being Tommy Orpington’s ex-wife.” Demi will appear in more scenes across the week, while it’s not known if anything else about the character will be revealed.

Episodes this week will see Sally Metclafe keen to meet Steve’s new partner, after learning Demi is an estate agent in Hale Barns. Earlier this week Demi asked Steve about his hatred of Tommy intrigued to know what went on between them, leading to him confessing about Tracy’s affair with the footballer behind his back.
