Joel Deering as the corrupt copper raises suspicion amongst fans of the ITV soap

Coronation Street has dropped some intriguing hints about the future plans of newcomer Kit Green. Recently, Bernie Winter discovered she’d been duped by her long-lost son Kit, who she reunited with after many years apart. Kit hasn’t forgiven his biological mother for abandoning him and has tried to turn her other children, Gemma Winter and Paul Foreman, against her.

Earlier this year, Kit, a police officer, planted missing Lauren Bolton’s DNA to frame Nathan Curtis, leading to his arrest, while the real culprit Joel Deering remains free. On Monday night, Kit secretly teamed up with criminal Sid and his counterfeit T-shirt business, promising to keep quiet as long as he gets half the profits.

Next week’s spoilers reveal more mystery surrounding Kit as he moves into Glenda Shuttleworth’s old room at the Rovers pub, realising it’s a hotbed of gossip that could be useful. Later in the week, as he settles into the Rovers, he decides to flirt with Daisy Midgeley.

Meanwhile, Daisy’s love interest, Ryan Connor, is impressed with Kit’s vinyl collection and suggests they go out for a drink. What are Kit’s intentions towards Daisy and Ryan, and why has he moved into the Rovers?, reports the Mirror.

Next week, Paul, who has been diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND), is upset when Kit doesn’t show up for a family dinner. Later, Paul plays Kit a message begging him to forgive Bernie for the sake of the family.

Kit stubbornly refuses but when Paul suddenly finds himself struggling for breath, Kit is thrown into panic.

This comes as viewers are convinced that Kit is secretly evil Joel’s accomplice on the cobbles. Viewers will remember that Lauren made a shock comeback last month as Cait Fitton reprised her role.

Weeks after a brutal attack by Joel, which Weatherfield residents still don’t know about, Lauren, who was believed to be dead, was revealed to be alive as she headed to the hospital to visit Roy Cropper after he suffered a heart attack weeks after being wrongly imprisoned for Lauren’s ‘murder’.

And things only got more explosive when Joel confronted Lauren at the hospital, forcing her into a family room and pleading with her not to reveal what happened. As violent and evil Joel went to lash out again, Lauren protected her stomach revealing she was five months pregnant with his baby in a huge bombshell before fleeing the hospital.

Joel has been secretly harbouring Lauren in a vacant flat, making clandestine visits as he plans her relocation to Ireland. However, Joel’s sinister intentions were exposed last month when he was spotted on his laptop searching: “What drugs can induce premature labour”.

Last week, Lauren experienced a terrifying ordeal when she was robbed and subsequently collapsed at the flat, with her newborn son now battling for his life in an incubator.

Fans took to Twitter to share their theories about the storyline. One user speculated: “I say Kit is involved more in this Lauren storyline like there’s something odd with him and could be a nice twist like maybe he knows Joel etc and maybe Kit is father of her baby #corrie”, while another suggested: “I think that Kit ‘s in league with Joel .
