Tina O’Brien shared a cryptic message with fans after making her return to work weeks after being involved in a nasty brawl outside her home.
Drama erupted outside the 40-year-old soap star’s house last month with the actress reportedly stepping in to try to stop two teenage girls having a vicious scrap. Footage from the astonishing incident quickly went viral – and showed Tina herself getting physical with the teens as she is said to have desperately tried to stop the violence.
After trying to defend her home from an unprovoked attack, she was was cleared of all blame. Bosses gave her some time off after being left shaken by the incident where reports claim the star was hit and had her hair pulled before she retaliating by trading blows, putting one of the teenagers in a headlock. Tina – who has played Sarah-Louise Platt on Corrie since 1999 – was said to be living in fear of “reprisal attacks” in Stockport.
As she returns to the Cobbles, Tina blasted out Otis Redding hit Try a Little Tenderness as she made her work to the studio. The telling upload was seen as the star asking for some consideration after a tough time. Posting to Instagram, she captioned the video ‘Squeeze’ after she pulled up.
One of the mothers of one of the girls who was involved in the violent incident has broken their silence to thank Tina for stepping in. The mother says that she is thankful that Tina – who has played Sarah-Louise Platt on Corrie since 1999 – defended her daughter from the other teenager who was involved in the incident.
The mother has also shared her view that her own daughter being involved in a fight is greatly out of character and she is glad an adult was there to intervene. Tina is said to have rushed out of her £1 million Manchester home upon hearing a fracas outside the home and jumped into action to try to calm the scenario.
The grateful mother of one of the girls told The Sun: “Tina has been pretty brave in stepping in. Tina is only little herself and she was defending my daughter, so I am extremely grateful to her. You can hear in her voice on the video that she is frightened. This is also not like her, and she is a really good person. I have thanked her and would have done the same if it was my house.”
