In a dramatic twist on Coronation Street, Jack Webster’s recent arrest has left fans deeply

concerned about his future. This week, Jack confessed to DS Lisa Swain that he had accidentally started the fire that severely damaged Stefan Brent’s office building. Jack revealed that he had set out to vandalize Stefan’s car as revenge for Stefan tricking him into leaving No. 13, where Stefan seized evidence against him.

Despite Kevin’s determination to take the fall for Jack, his son chose to come clean behind Kevin’s back. Following a shocking turn of events in last week’s episode, Jack’s admission to the police left Kevin, Abby, and Debbie reeling. In Friday’s August 2 episode, Jack tried to be honest during his interrogation but vehemently denied any intention to cause a fire.

Jack’s plea for leniency, claiming he’s not a malicious person, fell on deaf ears when DS Swain announced that he would be formally charged with arson with intent to endanger life. This news hit Jack hard, and his defense lawyer, Adam Barlo, left the interrogation looking grim. Adam explained that Jack’s confession had strengthened the prosecution’s case, making jail time almost inevitable. He advised that Jack’s best chance to avoid a lengthy trial was to plead guilty to a lesser charge, but even then, he’d likely face several months in a juvenile detention center.

In a heartfelt moment, Abby, who had always supported Kevin, promised to remain strong for him in this challenging time. The episode closes with viewers left wondering about Jack’s next move and his future.
