Lucy Fallon, who stars in Coronation Street, has just teased an exciting new storyline for her character, Bethany Platt, set to unfold later this year. During a special photoshoot for the Inside Soap Awards 2024, Lucy shared some intriguing details about what’s next for Bethany. She revealed to Digital Spy that the upcoming plot will dive deep into Bethany’s personal struggles and fears, promising to be both dramatic and emotional.

Lucy mentioned that Bethany is about to face a significant new challenge that will stir her emotions and test her resolve. With Kate Brooks, the former Emmerdale head, now taking over as Coronation Street’s producer, Lucy is eager to see how Kate’s vision will shape Bethany’s future. She expressed enthusiasm about the potential for exciting new developments for the Platt family, hinting at big events on the horizon.

For the time being, Bethany remains entangled in the ongoing drama surrounding Lauren Bolton. Joel Dearing, who has been at the center of the turmoil following his brutal attack on Lauren earlier this year, is desperately trying to cover his tracks. Lucy noted that Bethany will play a crucial role in the investigation, as she becomes deeply involved in uncovering the truth behind the attack. While she initially suspects Nathan, Bethany will soon discover that Joel is the real culprit, linking her story with his dramatic downfall.

Lucy also shared her hope for justice for Lauren, echoing the importance of seeing Bethany’s past experiences with Nathan come full circle. The storyline will not only bring depth to Bethany’s character but also highlight the need for resolution and accountability.

During the Inside Soap Awards photoshoot, Lucy and the Platt family were prominently featured as nominees for Best Family. When asked why fans should vote for Coronation Street, Lucy praised the show’s talented cast and writers, emphasizing their ability to handle complex storylines with skill. She assured fans that there’s plenty of compelling content coming up that will keep them hooked.
