Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) is the only person to have caught onto Joel Deering’s (Calum Lill) behaviour in Coronation Street, but even she doesn’t know just how dangerous he really is.
The detective’s daughter is currently blackmailing the sinister solicitor for trying to get best mate Sabrina Adetiba (Luana Santos) drunk, and she is certainly playing with fire.
Viewers will know that Joel was responsible for the attack on Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton), which left police believing that she was dead.
After grooming her, Joel brutally beat Lauren when she mentioned Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown), and left her for dead in her flat.
Fortunately, Lauren survived – though evil Joel is still walking free.
Determined not to let him get away with his dodgy behaviour towards Sabrina, Betsy has been demanding money from Joel in exchange for her silence.
This has previously gotten her in trouble with new boss Carla Connor (Alison King), who wasn’t happy with how distracted Betsy was by her phone during the work day.
In upcoming scenes, Betsy continues to disrupt Joel’s day to day life when she demands even more money, and he is forced to lie that he is heading off to work when he leaves to deal with it.
Meanwhile, Betsy swans out of the factory after demanding an early lunch, leaving Carla frustrated.
When the factory boss heads to the police station to discuss the matter with DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers), their conversation is interrupted by a call from the troubled teen.
Lisa is horrified to discover that Betsy is stuck in a rough part of town – but will she get to the bottom of what is really going on?
Will Lisa get to her daughter in time, or is Betsy in serious danger?
