A former Home and Away heartthrob is behind bars after being refused bail on assault charges.
Orpheus Pledger, 30, has been on remand since March 27 after being charged for an incident allegedly involving an assault causing injury.
He is best known for portraying Mason Morgan on 339 episodes of Home and Away from 2016 to 2019 before quitting acting to pursue a career in music.
Pledger faced Melbourne Magistrate’s Court on Monday via video link where his lawyer, Jasper MacCuspie, requested to have his matter adjourned.
He will have spent almost a month behind bars when he applies for a suppression order and bail next Monday, News reports.
Pledger had been an actor since he was eight-years-old when he first appeared in the 2001 soap opera, The Secret Life of Us.
His first big break came in the mid-2000s teen drama Silversun before landing himself on 36 episodes of Neighbours as Noah Parkin, a ‘free-spirited teen who will set some hearts on fire’.
While at the peak of his Home and Away fame in 2018, the then 24-year-old asked his fans to vote for him at Cleo’s Bachelor of the Year, saying he would be ‘really pleased if I was to win’.
A source close to Pledger, who asked to remain anonymous, told Daily Mail Australia the actor had struggled since leaving Home and Away.
‘Orpheus has been exerting this problematic behaviour for a while, since he relocated back to Melbourne after his character was killed off,’ the source said.
