Joel’s plan to send Lauren to Ireland is part of his desperate bid to keep his dark secrets hidden. With Ronnie discovering the fridge stocked with single-serving meals, Joel’s anxiety about Lauren’s departure intensifies. The future of DD Bailey on Coronation Street looks bleak as Joel’s secrets begin to surface, putting their impending marriage in jeopardy. Recent flashbacks revealed Joel’s ongoing abuse and manipulation of Lauren, shedding light on his deceitful behavior.
Actress Kate Fitten, who portrays Lauren, shared insights on the psychological impact of trauma, emphasizing that it’s not something that can be easily overcome or forgotten. Since leaving Weirfield, Lauren’s life has been a series of struggles, including homelessness and frequent eviction from hostels.
