Very Big Sad News : Coronation Street Star Will Mellor EXPOSES Why Harvey Won’t Return “

Coronation Street star Will Mellor has shared the heartbreaking news about why his character, Harvey, won’t be making a comeback. Harvey, the menacing drug lord portrayed by Mellor, first appeared in 2021 when Simon Barlow was coerced into joining his criminal operation. Harvey’s villainous arc continued as he clashed with characters like Leanne Battersby, who worked with the police to bring him down. During a dramatic week-long special, Harvey attempted to kill Leanne but ended up inadvertently killing Natasha Blakeman instead.

Harvey made a return in 2022, with Natasha’s son Sam visiting him in prison to seek answers about his mother’s death and Harvey’s actions. Mellor reprised his role earlier this year, but now he reveals that he won’t be returning to the show.

In an exclusive interview with The Mirror, Mellor explained, “I don’t like to overdo things. When I first played Harvey, it was meant to be for the special event, and I thought that would be the end of it. Then they asked me to come back for a bit, and the storyline about Sam questioning Harvey added an interesting dimension. It was compelling to see how this hardened criminal faced scrutiny from a young boy.”

Despite the intriguing storyline, Mellor feels that there’s little left to explore with Harvey. “I think I’ve done everything I needed to with this character,” he said. “Sometimes you can overdo it and keep going back to a role, which can dilute the impact of the character and the storyline. I don’t want to weaken it by extending it further.”

Mellor, reflecting on his time on Coronation Street, described it as a fulfilling experience. “It was like ticking off a box that I really wanted to tick,” he shared. “I’ve enjoyed my time playing Harvey, but I believe it’s better to leave it where it is rather than stretching it out.”

This decision marks the end of Harvey’s storyline, leaving fans with a sense of closure but also sadness over his departure. Stay tuned for more updates and future developments on the show.
