Despite her illustrious British television career, Liverpool-born Christine never attended drama school.
The actress was actually scouted aged just 15 years old at a drama group, and cast as the lead in The Leaving of Liverpool.
The drama was about the Home Children – the migration scheme which saw over 100,000 British children sent to Commonwealth realms such as Australia, New Zealand, Canada and South Africa.
Following her young success, Christine continued on in the acting world, carving out a career in both TV and film.
