Nicky Wheatley is back on Coronation Street tonight as Daniel Osbourne gets in touch to try and get some answers about where Lauren Bolton is
Nicky Wheatley will make her return to Coronation Street in a new Lauren Bolton twist.
Lauren went missing a couple of months ago, and the police have presumed she is dead and charged innocent Roy Cropper for her murder. This week, Daniel Osbourne found himself under suspicion when Bobby gave a false statement to try and get Roy freed.
In a desperate attempt to get both himself and Roy off the hook, Daniel goes in search for Nicky. She is now an outreach worker in the community, working with the girls on the streets, and Daniel is hopeful she can find out where Lauren is.
Nicky was first introduced to viewers four years ago as Daniel struggled following the death of his wife Sinead. He met Nicky – who worked as an escort at the time – when he was still grieving for Sinead.
The pair soon became friends and Daniel ended up going back to her hotel room, only for her to reveal that she was an escort. He was upset after finding out she wanted to spend time with him for that reason, as he thought they had really bonded.
Speaking about her return to the show, Rob Mallard – who plays Daniel – said he was glad to have Kimberley back. He said: “Nicky is a good Corrie character and we really do have a great time working together. The nature of the storylines that Kimberley has can actually be quite funny to play out so we do have a laugh filming them. I’m thrilled to have her back.”
Who plays Nicky on Coronation Street?
Nicky is played by actress Kimberly Hart Simpson, who described it as a “pleasure” to be back on the show.
