Former Home and Away star Kate Ritchie was captured looking delighted as a handsome man handed her a red rose at a Singles Ball in Sydney.

The 45-year-old radio host attended the NOVA FM event at Taronga Zoo on Thursday night, wearing a strapless black dress with silver flower detail at the bust.

A dapper-looking gentleman named Will was filmed handing her the red rose then asking the star to dance, before they walked off together.

When the footage was posted to the Fitzy, Wippa and Kate Instagram page, it had followers wondering: Could this pairing possibly lead to Australia’s very own Kate and Will?

Kate is indeed on the singles market, having split from boyfriend Chevy Black.

Although Will looked nervous to approach the star, she was all smiles and giggles as he made his romantic gesture.

The pair was spotted hitting it off on the dancefloor later in the night.

“I know this guy personally and couldn’t think of a more genuine, real person,” one follower wrote on Instagram.

“I hope you enjoy your night (and have plenty more nights with Will to come!)”

“Fingers crossed for Will and Kate,” said another.

“Awww he’s a little bit cute. Good pick Kate. Aus’s very own Will & Kate ,” wrote a third.

Others chipped in to say Will was “so handsome” and looked like a “good pick”

One friend of Will’s noted that he had been taking dancing lessons.

“Love this for you!” the friend wrote, tagging Will.

“Can’t wait to see how those dancing lessons have paid off!”

Ritchie separated from her partner Chevy Black late last year, nine months after they went “Instagram official”
